Description

The Indian Navy MR (Matric Recruit), AA (Artificer Apprentice), and SSR (Senior Secondary Recruit) exams are recruitment tests conducted to select candidates for various roles in the Indian Navy. These exams provide an opportunity for young individuals to serve the nation while developing technical, operational, and general skills within a disciplined environment.

 

Overview of Roles

  1. Matric Recruit (MR):
    • Candidates recruited under MR perform tasks related to catering, housekeeping, and logistics. This role ensures the smooth functioning of onboard operations.
  2. Artificer Apprentice (AA):
    • Recruits are trained in technical aspects like electronics, mechanics, and engineering, playing a critical role in maintaining naval equipment.
  3. Senior Secondary Recruit (SSR):
    • Candidates are assigned to operational and technical roles, including manning critical systems like radar, sonar, and communications.

 

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Educational Qualification:
    • MR: Candidates must have passed 10th standard (Matriculation) from a recognized board.
    • AA: Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Mathematics and Physics, and at least one of Chemistry, Biology, or Computer Science. Minimum aggregate marks: 60%.
    • SSR: Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Mathematics and Physics, and at least one of Chemistry, Biology, or Computer Science.
  2. Age Limit:
    • MR, AA, and SSR: Candidates must be between 17 to 21 years. Relaxations are provided for SC/ST candidates as per government norms.
  3. Physical Standards:
    • Minimum height: 157 cm
    • Weight: Proportionate to height and age
    • Visual standards: 6/6 in better eye, 6/9 in worse eye without glasses
  4. Citizenship:
    • Candidates must be Indian citizens.

 

Exam Pattern

The selection process for MR, AA, and SSR includes:

  1. Written Examination:
    • Conducted online with objective-type questions.
    • Subjects:
      • MR: Science, Mathematics, and General Knowledge
      • AA/SSR: Science, Mathematics, English, and General Awareness
    • Duration: 1 hour
    • Medium: Bilingual (English and Hindi)
  2. Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
