This staff selection commission carries out the MTS exam to select multi-tasking staff (MTS); which is a general central service Group C Non-Gazetted, Non Ministerial post in different departments, ministries and offices of the Government of India in different States and Union Territories. SSC Conducts MTS exams and recruits candidates who pass their eligibility criteria to perform multitasking jobs. This examination is held for these departments and positions as mentioned below:

  • Lower Division Clerk
  • Junior Secretariat Assistant
  • Postal Assistant
  • Sorting Assistant
  • Data Entry Operator Posts

Recruitment process:

There are three stages of this examination’s selection process:

  • Stage 1- Paper-I (Objective wise)
  • Stage 2- PET (Physical Efficiency Test)/ PST (Physical Standard Test, Only for the post of Havaldar)
