Overview of the RRB NTPC Exam

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Educational Qualification
    • Graduate-Level Posts: A bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
    • Undergraduate-Level Posts: Passed 12th standard or equivalent examination from a recognized board.
  1. Age Limit
    • Undergraduate posts: 18 to 30 years.
    • Graduate posts: 18 to 33 years.
    • Age relaxation is applicable as per government rules for reserved categories.

 

Selection Process

The selection process for the RRB NTPC exam involves multiple stages:

1. Stage-I Computer-Based Test (CBT)

  • Subjects: Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness.
  • Total Marks: 100.
  • Duration: 90 minutes.
  • Purpose: Qualifying in nature to shortlist candidates for CBT Stage-II.

2. Stage-II Computer-Based Test (CBT)

  • Subjects: Same as Stage-I but with a higher difficulty level.
  • Total Marks: 120.
  • Duration: 90 minutes.
  • Purpose: Determines eligibility for subsequent stages based on merit.

3. Skill Test/Typing Test (as applicable)

  • Posts Requiring Typing Skills: Minimum typing speed of 30 words per minute in English or 25 words per minute in Hindi.

4. Document Verification (DV)

  • Shortlisted candidates must verify their original documents.

5. Medical Examination

  • Ensures candidates are physically fit for the post applied for.
